Secret Omega Page 6
To Stone's surprise, Peregwin pushed him away. "No we did not."
The alpha was caught off guard. "What's the matter?"
"What we shared was a mistake, Stone. A moment of weakness." Peregwin turned away and busied himself with washing a stack of jars. " I won't let an alpha have power over me me. Never again."
By the moon, what had happened to this omega? Stone just stared as he desperately tried to comprehend. Who had hurt this beautiful creature, wounded them so that they would fear the touch of another? To make them vow to never love again?
Part of him wanted to lash out. Launch a one man war against the Bloody Fang, no matter how suicidal that sounded.
Yet that wasn't the answer here. The Bloody Fang deserved every bit of misery wrought against them, but no amount of violence would fix the wounds left on Peregwin's heart.
Stone realized that he had to return the favor to Peregwin. The omega had healed him, so he would heal him right back.
Tenderly, he approached. Peregwin still avoided letting his eyes meet his.
Again, his arms crossed over Peregwin's body. "I'm not going to hurt you. I know you've been through terrible things, and fear those things coming again. I want you to love again, Pere."
The omega tilted his head toward Stone. Stone repaid the movement with a kiss. Deep, passionate. It'd been so long since he had those lips.
He couldn't lie to himself. The past week, where he had been forced to stay under Peregwin's roof without release had been a test. Smelling him, that essence, especially the way it mingle with his own pheromones was intoxicating.
Stone kissed his cheeks and nibbled on his ear. Peregwin's entire body called out to him. The primal beat inside him urged Stone to take him. Make the omega his again, and make it so he wouldn't forget it. Tossing him down on the bed, tearing his clothes off, and having him hard would satisfy Stone, but he didn't know if that was enough for Peregwin.
"Let me take care of you."
The tender growling of Peregwin stuck with him. The alpha's hands went down his chest. Stone wanted all of him. Again. Having him covered up like this in front of him was simply cruel.
Pushing that shirt up and off him, feeling the tenderness of his flesh under his fingers. How Peregwin cried out a little when Stone's fingers slid across his nipples. Every bit of the omega was so supple, so soft, so delectable.
The omega was still paralyzed by his indecision. Stone read that much from him. He would need more convincing, and Stone would have a fun time doing the convincing.
He went lower and lower. Across that abdomen, where he briefly dreamed of it swelling with his pup.
Stone grumbled at the thought. It wasn't the time to think of such things.
This was about pleasing Peregwin above all else. His hands slid across the omega's hips, pushing down his bottoms. He was already hard for his alpha. Despite all the protest, all the confusion, Peregwin failed to stifle his arousal for Stone.
It made the alpha chuckle. His breath seethed around the omega's ear. He felt him shudder under his hands.
"Relax. Let me take care of you," he whispered.
There was still so much tenseness in Peregwin. Stone had to prove to him that he wasn't like other alphas. He was going to be good to him. He would be everything Peregwin deserved.
Peregwin squirmed more as Stone stroked his cock. Tender jerks, the alpha kissed his cheek, urging his omega's lips forward. Lips to lips, they met, Peregwin's obedience to him growing.
"Lay down," he commanded.
His partner nodded, and obeyed, stripping himself down, leaving himself completely bare before his alpha. Stone dropped to his knees, hastily running his warm hands up Peregwin's legs, across his thighs, focusing on what hung between them.
The alpha nuzzled his balls gently, tickling Peregwin with the tip of his nose before licking up his shaft. The taste of the omega's skin almost sent him into a frenzy of need and he had to rein in his desire to flip the omega over and fuck him hard like he had before.
More than anything, Peregwin needed tenderness. Stone had already dominated him like any good alpha should, this though was about being a lover. A partner. Someone who would help Peregwin move on and love once more.
The omega moaned ever so lightly and just the sound of Peregwin's pleasure was enough to make Stone twitch with need. The beast inside of him was calling for him to flip his omega over and claim him again, but he managed to restrain himself.
"Relax for me. I'll take care of you, just like you've taken care of me."
Peregwin was so tense. He always was. Stone saw that he was hating himself for enjoying this, and now the alpha knew why. He would show the omega that it was okay to embrace their connection.
Nothing could taste as sweet as Peregwin. The tiniest drop of come escaping him was like the nectar of the gods to Stone. He licked at the omega's throbbing cock, hungry—starving for Peregwin's pleasure.
It still troubled him that Peregwin was lying there so flat, still so conflicted over whether he should be enjoying what was being done to him.
Gentleness. It was what Stone needed to show. He wasn't a self centered monster like most alphas he had run into. He massaged his omega. His thighs, his stomach, his chest, his ass. Every part of him deserved worship.
Every little moan that escaped the omega's lips pleased Stone so much.
He coaxed out more of those beautiful noises, licking him, sucking him, taking his balls into his mouth, and gently juggling them, massaging them with his tongue.
Peregwin's arms flew back. He was lying defenseless before Stone. The beast side of him knew that he could have him anyway he wanted right now, and there was absolutely nothing to be done to stop him.
The alpha realized this and took note. If Peregwin truly didn't trust Stone, why would he put himself at such risk? He was far too intelligent of an omega to put himself in such a compromising position. It wasn't as if Peregwin stood a chance of overpowering Stone, even with his wound.
Deep beneath it all, Stone realized that there must be trust. It was trying to escape through all of Peregwin's self doubt and anxiety. It wouldn't be quick, but showing Peregwin how much he cared would only hasten the process.
Peregwin's back arched with pleasure. He fought Stone, squirming against his licks.
Stone simply put a flat palm on Peregwin's chest. "Calm down. Stay. Just let me please you."
Peregwin obeyed, sitting back, letting Stone tease out his pleasure. His hands slid around to that tight ass that Stone admired so much, spreading his cheeks, teasing him further.
The omega's breaths became more rapid, more needy, his hands flew down to Stone's hair and caressed his head—a voiceless way of begging Stone to keep doing what he was doing.
Feeling the omega shudder beneath his tongue, it was such a rush. It was almost as if sensed the pleasure his omega was feeling from everything he did, the pressure building inside him.
He kept going, looking into Peregwin's eyes as he pushed him over the edge, desperately hoping his touch communicate everything in his heart.
Peregwin cried out as he reached his climax, so much of his cum rushing through him and into Stone's mouth. The alpha greedily sucked it all down. Everything about Peregwin should belong to him, even the essence that spills from him in the throes of passion.
His omega was a sweating panting mess. It was a wonderful sight for Stone, as he slid his lips off his omega's cock.
Stone climbed over Peregwin, his body against his. "Do you think you can trust me yet? Do you think you can love me?"
Peregwin needed time to catch his breath. He struggled to speak. The expressions on his face told Stone that his thoughts were in total chaos.
So he simply kissed his omega on the forehead. "Take your time. I'm going to be here until you realize that I'm not going to hurt you. No matter what."
He slid to the side of Peregwin, taking him into his arms. He held him close. This was all he needed. The desire to thrust himself into
the omega was so very strong, but it would wait. There were more important things to be done.
The alpha would prove himself to his omega. His hand rested over Peregwin's abdomen. When that trust was fully gained, then they would truly mate. The bond he felt would thrive.
He wanted to lie there with Peregwin in his arms, watching as he drifted off to sleep. That would have been perfect for him.
Yet their situation had so many ways to ruin their brief moment of serenity.
Knocking echoed through the hut, sending Stone bolting up. Peregwin was already out of it. He was exhausted from a hard day of work, and what Stone had done to him hardly helped things.
"Peregwin? I have Ollas."
The pack master. Stone recognized his voice by now. Silently, he covered Peregwin in blankets, and darted for his hiding place in the cupboard. He was growing quite tired of using it.
The door was pushed open, and Briar walked through. Ollas run up to the bed and climbed in next to his father.
"Poor thing. He's exhausted from everything." Briar said, approaching. He adjusted the covers on top of Peregwin, and then ruffled Ollas's hair. "Let your dada sleep, okay? He really needs it."
"Okay."
Stone smiled, but at the same time felt empty. He wished the Cracked Claw cared anywhere near as much as this pack did. The master of that pack was cruel. If he saw a tired omega, he would just deride them for being weak, and work them even harder.
Was he jealous? He wished he could be a part of this. It was more than just Peregwin and Ollas. It was their pack. A family instead of simply an alliance of convenience.
He continued to watch with a slight smile on his face as Briar double-checked with Ollas, making sure there would be no pup problems that would force him to rouse Peregwin early.
"Be a good one for your dada. Sleep well, Ollas."
"Okay Uncle Bri."
Someday, he would be part of that. He had to be.
The how was what eluded him.
Chapter Eight
Peregwin
"Mmm..." Peregwin hummed. He hadn't felt this good in quite some time. There really was nothing like good rest after being denied it for so long. A brief moment of panic followed when the warm sun fell on his face—he’d slept in well past dawn.
He glanced around. Where was Ollas? The pup was always so quick to rouse him awake in the mornings that Peregwin had began to rely on it. He tried to slow his pulse and not let his mind go to the worst possibility. "Ollas? Pup, where are you?"
He heard some giggling. A cupboard? Peregwin knelt in front of the cupboard and cracked the door open, only to have a tiny hand reach out and slam it shut.
"Shh! He gonna find me!" Ollas hissed through giggles.
"Who? Who's going to find you?"
"Stone."
"Ah ha, there you are! With an assist from Dada, huh?" Stone bolted in almost out of nowhere and wrapped his arms around Peregwin, reaching through and tagging Ollas. "Found you."
"No fair! Dada found me! Not you!"
"Hey, I figured out where you were hiding. I just had some help. It counts."
Peregwin smiled as the two bickered at one another. Then he took a deep breath, stepping away from Stone and redressing himself. He’d been so weak to let Stone have his way with him. Now this, with Stone going and being so good with Ollas.
A friend. Ollas had made Stone into a friend, and yet Peregwin was still fretting over the strange feelings stirring in his chest. Intimacy—that was what they’d shared. Of course he’d had a mate to bring Ollas into the world, but back in his old pack, he’d been used as a tool and not much more. Intimacy might as well have been from a foreign tongue for all Peregwin’s familiarity with the word.
It was bizarre. Stone showed compassion. Care. Wanting to please him. Wanting to gain Peregwin's trust. And Peregwin almost wanted to give it to him. But he thought of falling into an alpha’s arms again made acid rise in his throat..
He needed to get to work. It would at least let him put the thoughts behind him for now. When he approached his hearth though, there was already food there.
"So," Stone put a hand on his shoulder. "Thought I'd treat you to some breakfast."
There was a plate of eggs by the fire that looked somehow burnt and undercooked at the same time. He decided not to criticize.
"I already fed myself and Ollas. You just take care of you, Pere."
Peregwin dug into the eggs without complaint. He had skipped supper the night before, so they were nice to finally break his unintentional fast. That's about what they were good for. If he wasn't so hungry, he knew he'd have to have a word with Stone about the quality of his cooking. Besides, he couldn't remember the last time someone had cooked for him.
Caring. Loving. Tender. It was all he ever dreamed of in a mate, yet all the same...
Could he really trust a stranger? An alpha who came from a world that had treated Peregwin as a slave. Kindness could be faked, and Peregwin had to admit Stone seemed to good to be true. He could just be waiting until his wound healed before taking off with enough information to destroy their pack.
"You're not eating, soo..." Stone swooped in and planted a kiss right on Peregwin's lips, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Despite all of his doubts, Peregwin reciprocated. Stone was making him feel things that he never thought he would feel. He wanted to go with his heart. His soul.
If only his mind would let him.
"Thank you," Peregwin managed to say as the kiss broke. He kept eating, wolfing down the food.
"Think nothing of it, Pere." Stone went over the tub of water. "I got the dishes. You just take it easy."
The omega looked out the window. The sun was approaching its highest point. "I would, but people still need their food. I have to run it out to them. They’re building a school for our pups."
Peregwin winced. He was just offering up information unprovoked, sharing it as if it were no big deal.
"A skoo-wal?” Stone cocked his head. “What in the good moon is a skoowal?"
“A school.” Peregwin resisted the urge to laugh. "It's a place to teach our pups. We’ll tell them how Mount Liberty came to be, and make sure they learn the skills to keep it beautiful and thriving."
There was a sudden painful shock to his abdomen. He cursed under his breath.
"Are you okay?"
"Oh, um..." Peregwin forced a smile. He didn't know what to expect, but he wasn't going to give Stone a suspicion. "Must have been something I ate is all."
"If you're sure. I know I can't do your runs for you, but if there’s any other way to help, remember I'm here, Pere."
Peregwin nodded in return. "I need to get going. Ollas, Ollas where are you?"
He popped out of the cupboard. "Dada?"
"Come here. I think I wanna take you with me today."
"And deny me of all of my entertainment?" Stone gave a mock pout.
"I'm sure you'll survive." Peregwin shot a glance in Stone's direction. He saw the scab where the wound once gaped. It was healing up nicely with the balm he’d been applying. Soon Stone’s body would rid the muscles of the poison from Peregwin’s blade and he would be able to shift again.
Stone's healing also reminded Peregwin of the dilemma growing in his belly.
No. He wasn't going to trouble himself with those thoughts at that moment. He was going to get fresh air. He picked his son up grabbed his sling, and swung him onto his back.
Ollas squirmed. "I wanna walk."
"You're not going to be able to keep up with me on those stubby little legs of yours, pup."
Ollas huffed, but didn’t argue. Peregwin collected his pouch, his supplies and sent a nod Stone's way before heading out the door. His stomach kept nagging at him as he walked. He wished that it was only hunger that he was dealing with and not the growing fear that this was too familiar, something that he had felt before.
The fresh air helped a little bit, but not anywhere near the amount Peregwin had hoped it wou
ld. Still, he was dedicated to his duty and he wouldn't let anything slow him down from it. That's was what he told himself anyway. He made it halfway to the future schoolhouse before the pain returned. It came in such intense waves that it, forced him to double over.
"Dada you okay?" Ollas sniffled, and seemed like he was starting to cry at Peregwin's gasps of pain.
"Peregwin, what's wrong?" Rohan ran up to him. "Let me take Ollas."
Having the pup taken off his back helped. Deep breaths, Peregwin tried to get better control of his body. He was stronger than this. "I just need a moment. It was something I ate."
"Well your cooking has been off recently, but it hasn't made me sick."
"I must have pulled a muscle." Peregwin was just flailing, looking for any lie, because any lie was better than the truth.
"Dada sick?" Ollas spoke up.
"No, no it's okay," Rohan continued, carrying Ollas around. "Why don't you tell Uncle Rohan how your days been going?"
Rohan, good son of the moon that he was, was buying Peregwin time to get himself together.
He clapped his hands together. "I play with Stone!"
Peregwin glanced up at his pup, his eyes wide with concern.
"You played with stones? I didn't think a pup would find fun with rocks, but it's been a while for me, hasn't it?"
"No, no, Stone!"
Ollas had been so good about keeping the secret up until now.
"You want to see the stones we're using for the foundation?"
"Stone!" Ollas cheered out.
Ollas was such a sweet pup that knowing him, he just wanted to share his new best friend with anyone and thought it mean of them to keep Stone to themselves.
"Come along, Ollas," Peregwin said, desperately trying to hide his panic.
"What's the rush?" Rohan asked.
"I need to deliver this food. It's mid-day, and the pack is hungry."
Rohan raised an eyebrow. "You can't be serious. You can barely stand."
"The pack needs me. I'll be fine."
"No, what you're going to Peregwin is go back to your hut and rest." Rohan pulled the satchel off of Peregwin. "I'll do it."
